The team had a very talented mix of surfers including our own camp manager Pablo Prieto Serrano who made it through to the semi finals and positioned himself 7th in the competition. We cant say too much here as magazine articles and amazing photos from the competition will be in the European surf mags shortly! A big well done to the whole German team and extra thanks to the Irish for their hospitality, waves and Guinness. We look forward to building upon our relationship with the German National Team and working on future surf coaching and training weeks in the surf camp in France.

The surf here in Moliets has been a little moody for this time of year, one day big and powerful and the next small and perfect, it would seem the snow and surf seasons in Europe this year have been up and down like a yo yo however all our lessons were delivered and all the photos from the first half of the season will be up online in a few days time.

For those looking for a perfect September surf trip to France we still have spaces available and will be running extra lessons for advanced surfers alongside our usual beginner courses.

This is a great opportunity to be taught to surf by one of surfings most talented women and get to really understand what goes on behind the scenes in the world of professional surfing. Nicola will be living in the camp and most days will be found on the beach surfing, teaching and generally living the dream. Check out these two videos of Nicola charging in Hawaii and then winning the world juniors at her home break in Aus.

The projector is used in the evenings to analyze surf footage and to host presentations and theory lessons, then we crank up the music and open a few beers for some evenings entertainment. This year we have more bikes, more hammocks and a much larger camping area creating a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere. Here is a picture of Dane hiding from the girls on the beach behind a wall of water. Pablo and Sami are currently in Moliets with a couple of members of the team putting together the camp which this year will be even bigger and better. Alain is currently at the airport awaiting news on the ash cloud and Tait and Elle are settling in nicely for a quiet week of waves and a little work here and there.

I myself am still in England flying out in a few days and just picking up a few last bits and pieces including our new projector for the surf movie cinema nights in the camp.

This part of the year is always an exciting time for us here at Star Surf Camps. New members join the team (check the updated profiles on the team page), new boards and surf equipment arrives, the sun starts to shine in sunny France and most exciting of all our new season tee shirts have arrived! This year we have chosen to go for a number of different colours and the first 3 obviously had to be those of the French flag.

Unlike last year we have chosen not to keep the tee shirts exclusive to staff, you will all be happy to know you can buy one of these little beauties upon arrival into the camp to wear out on your first night partying, use to hide from the sun on your first day on the beach or just to take home and be the envy of all your friends!

All guests will stay with us in our surf camp nestled in the forest behind the sand dunes right next to some of Europes best beach breaks.

Currently flight prices are £80 for return flights with Ryan Air flying on the 14th and returning on the 21st flying to Biarritz, where we can collect you, contact us for more info regarding airport transfers!

He will be running a number of bodyboard training weeks designed to give intermediate and advanced bodyboarders access to top level professionals and world class bodyboard-specific coaching.

We will keep the groups small with up to 8 people at a time focusing on wave selection, competition tactics and perfecting the technique of maneuvers. You will sit down with Pablo and agree on personal goals you wish to achieve throughout the week and will benefit from video coaching and analysis with one of the worlds most innovative professional bodyboarders.

The course is open to everyone apart from complete beginners. Those who wish to learn to bodyboard can book a bodyboard course any week within the surf camp and are welcome at any time.
